Powerful Spatial Metrics

UAF, Value in Every Footstep

Spatial Metrics Tools are the most powerful tools available in the UAF. Spatial Metrics Tools record the footsteps of each agent as they move through the free space recording the agents “experience” and how the space dictates their quality of service. The Spatial Metrics Tool can be used to create coloured maps of complex spatial data including agent speed, density, delay, and space utilisation each of which can be used to examine causality for collisions and Level of Service for pedestrian movement.

Flexible Spatial Analysis

The Spatial Metrics Tool allows users to query metrics such as average speed, density, and delay in the free space that agents move thorough. The Spatial Metrics Tool also contains a route analysis tool where users can query the map data that lies beneath elements of the route and in turn calculate travel time through different parts of the model. For evacuation analysis this tool can be used to query exit times from different start points in the space to different exit points accurately showing how the available space is allowing different groups of agents to exit from the model during a critical evacuation scenario.
